'It Matters to Me' DVD Project
16 secondary school-age young people from 8 Faiths & Beliefs came together for the first time to get to know each other, have fun anf find out about the 'It Matters to Me' DVD project. The launch took place at West Town Farm, Ide, near Exeter and the participants came from Plymouth, Exeter, Torbay, Tavistock and Budleigh Salterton and Bittaford. The whole day was filmed by Plymouth Youth Media.
In addition to having a lot of fun on the farm, the participants learned about each others' beliefs and gave ideas about how they might be fimed during the Autmn term 2010. The final DVD will be sent to every school in Devon at least, with accompanying lesson notes in 2011.
The young people had a great time at the launch and are eager to plan their next coming together.
The project was led by Clare Mortimore of Faithnetsouthwest on behalf of the Devon Faith & Belief Forum in conjunction with Devon SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education) member, Paula Fletcher. Chaz Singh of Fata He also supoorted. The project is funded by the 'Faiths in Action' fund.
